I believe that:
- people voted into office have a responsibility to represent the people who elected them;
- it is crucial that our school board reflect the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and opinions of our highly diverse community;
- no child in our school district should ever "fall through the cracks;"
- providing more opportunities for more children is a positive thing;
- we must focus on the long-term future of education when addressing physical plant needs;
- spending our education dollars wisely is essential;
- we need to maintain our school district's assets for improved long-term fiscal responsibility;
- our students deserve to be in schools that are safe, comfortable, and conducive to learning;
- educational needs must be balanced with affordability for taxpayers so that people can continue to live in the wonderful State College area;
- it is the school district's duty to encourage public engagement in district decisions;
- the school board should strive for a community consensus when making major decisions;
- decisions made now about the district's physical plant should last for the next 40 to 50 years;
- investing in education is a prudent investment in our future!
